10 Years of Commitment to Climate Resilience in the Upper Rhine
On April 27, 2026, the Interreg projects Clim’Ability Care and CRANE invite you to a day of results-sharing and exchange at “Les Ateliers Éclairés,” located in the heart of the Port of Strasbourg.
A Dual Perspective on Climate Adaptation This event marks a major milestone in cross-border cooperation for the Upper Rhine region. It brings together two complementary projects to address the challenges of climate change:
- Clim’Ability Care: A retrospective on 10 years of supporting businesses, developing a “culture of care” in the face of climate risks, and presenting practical tools such as the “Air Climate Energy Compass.”
- CRANE: A focus on the technical resilience of port infrastructures, the hydrological evolution of the Rhine, and adaptation strategies for Rhine ports.
Event Program
Morning: Expertise and Panel Discussions (09:00 AM – 01:15 PM)
- Opening remarks by the management of the Port of Strasbourg and the Grand Est Region.
- Scientific analyses on hydrology and climate risks by the BfG and Fraunhofer IAIS.
- Panel discussion with the directors of the ports of Strasbourg, Rhineland-Palatinate, and the Swiss Rhine Ports.
- Presentation of awareness-raising and support tools for industrial players.
Afternoon: Field Immersion (02:30 PM – 04:30 PM) Discover concrete adaptation measures through two field trip options (registration required):
- Option 1: Boat Tour. Observation of heat vulnerabilities at locks and presentation of the Franco-German fireboat.
- Option 2: Bus Tour. Visit to container terminals and a “climate walk” on redesigned sites.
Closing: Social Gathering (04:30 PM) The day will conclude with an informal networking session at the headquarters of the Port of Strasbourg to celebrate the success of these collaborations.
