500 years after the fall of the Dürer meteorite in the Upper Rhine region, a stratospheric balloon ascends into space from there. A space odyssey as a media-ethnographic foray.
A space probe is equipped with cameras, microphones, sensors and a piece of moss. The starting point is a Critical Zone Observatory on a peak in the Vosges Mountains. The flying object – angel, virus and parasite in one – is baptized with Nile water and ascends into the stratosphere at a speed of 8m/sec.
Further information about the project can be found in the publication (in German only) and in the interactive web documentation.
